Suddenly famous? Congrats! You’ve gone from living your life quietly to having strangers on the internet debating what you had for breakfast. It’s a lot, but don’t worry—I’ve got some advice to help you keep your head on straight while navigating your 15 minutes (or hopefully more) of fame. Let’s get into it.

1. DON’T LOSE SIGHT OF WHAT MATTERS

First thing’s first: breathe.

Fame is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. It’s easy to get distracted by all the shiny opportunities coming your way, but try to stay grounded in what’s important to you. Whether it’s your career, your personal goals, or just staying sane, don’t let the chaos pull you off track.

Think of this as a marathon, not a sprint—pace yourself.

2. KNOW WHO YOU ARE (AND STICK TO IT)

Fame is basically like being on a reality show—you suddenly have an audience for everything you do. This is your moment to decide how you want to be seen. What’s your thing? Are you the funny one? The inspiring one? The mysterious one who says very little and lets everyone project their ideas onto you? Whatever it is, own it.

Be strategic with what you say yes to and ensure it aligns with your identity.

3. LEARN HOW TO TALK TO THE MEDIA

Here’s the deal: people will ask you questions, some of them weird or invasive. You need to know how to answer without accidentally saying something that makes you a trending topic for the wrong reasons.

Media training might sound fancy, but it’s just about learning how to steer conversations in a way that feels true to you. Plus, it can save you from cringe-worthy soundbites.

4. FIND YOUR TRUSTED PEOPLE

Let’s face it—you’re going to need help.

Whether it’s a publicist, a manager, or just a really organized friend, surround yourself with people who have your back. These are the folks who’ll help you figure out which offers are legit and which ones are... let’s just say “questionable.” Having a good team means you can focus on the fun parts while they handle the stressful stuff.

5. STAY IN THE GAME

Here’s the secret no one tells you: staying famous is harder than getting famous.

Once the initial buzz dies down, it’s up to you to keep people interested. Share little updates, work on projects you’re passionate about, and don’t be afraid to remind people why they loved you in the first place. Fame fades fast, but with a little effort, you can keep the momentum going.

BONUS TIP: DON’T READ THE COMMENTS

Seriously. Just don’t.

There you have it—your crash course in surviving sudden fame. Now go out there, enjoy the spotlight, and remember: the world loves you, but you’ve got to love yourself first. Or, you know, at least tolerate yourself.
