Here's what kills AI initiatives in professional services firms:
Not bad technology. Most firms choose perfectly adequate tools. The technology usually works fine.

They said: "In client work, precision and proven methods are required. In the learning environment, experimentation and iteration are required. These are different containers with different rules, and we're going to be crystal clear about which one we're in."
They protected time for experimentation. They celebrated learning, not just outcomes. They had leaders model vulnerability by sharing their own failed experiments. They separated experimentation metrics from performance metrics.
They made it safe to learn in public.
That's the difference. Not better technology. Not bigger budgets. Cultural permission to be visibly imperfect while learning something valuable.

Every time someone experiments and nothing happens—no recognition, no conversation, no celebration—your culture is deciding that experimentation isn't actually valued.
